Facebook Page for Marketing your Business
So perhaps you've heard a lot of buzz about Facebook but aren't sure what the big deal is. Interested in a little introduction? Read on!
As you may be aware, Facebook is a social networking site that enables you to share your business and products with Facebook users. These users can become a "fan" of your Facebook page and whenever you post something to that page it will show up in their news feed. It's a great way to reach people because, unlike email newsletters and updates, the recipient doesn't need to open anything.
A fun feature of Facebook is that if you create a profile for your business, you can talk to your customers through it! Not only can you add your own wall posts and news, but users can directly interact by posting comments of their own. Also, their news will show up in your newsfeed which you can comment on as well.
You can build a "fan" base that you can reach with important messages about your business or website. Stay in touch with your "fans" through announcements, and get important information out there about your business, such as events, promotional opportunities, sales etc. There are easy-to-use analytics and reporting tools to refer to andyour Facebook page can be promoted both on and off Facebook.
Now you have a Facebook page. What else can you do? You can upload videos or photos to bring color and life to the page, add applications that run themselves such as a blog feed, create a wall posts or discussion topics to get people talking, and run a media campaign to promote the page and build a big "fan" base. Those are just a few ideas.
How to get started. Easy as 1-2-3:
Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
1. Begin building your page by clicking “edit page”
2. Upload a profile picture. This will be the thumbnail picture that appears in the user’s fan box and on other pages, such as search results.
3. Edit the Information fields. Text in these boxes will surface the page when users search for keywords. More importantly, it will also be at the top of the page and provide users with a quick glance about the brand or product.
*Don't forget to post your web address!
