Google Street View has certainly evolved since 2007. They have added a lot more cities and countries from around the world. They finally added Hawai'i this year and the majority of the viewing area are from sections of Maui and Oahu. A nifty little orange man is a wonderful tool that has been updated to make it more user-friendly. His name? Pegman. A figure shaped like an old-fashioned clothes peg.

Our Maui Real Estate IDX uses this helpful tool in area maps, both in the list view and the full view. This simple yet handy feature allows clients to take a virtual “stroll” down the street that the property is located in, and areas beyond. Not all of Maui is on Google Street View yet, but soon Google Street View will go to even more extremes with the Trike. The Trike, a three wheeled bicycle-based camera system, will soon be making its way across suggested universities, pedestrian malls, zoos, sports venues and landmarks in America. Hopefully, they will be making their way to Maui soon.
