Tour the Enchanting Rain Forests of East Maui on Horseback

Some of the staff at Meyer Computer recently had the opportunity to take a trail ride with Maui Stables.
Located just past Hana, Maui Stables provides guided horseback tours of the rain forest of East Maui. The tour winds through steep ridges and valleys that are covered in greenery with waterfalls bursting over ledges as if by magic. Everyone was amazed by the beauty and serenity of the forest. We all look forward to visiting our friends out at Maui Stables again. Everyone agrees, this tour is a must see for anyone visiting Hana while on Maui. Nature lovers especially, will enjoy the scenic ride and the respect that Maui Stables' owners and guides have for the Aina (land), the forest, and their horses.
The three hour trail ride began and ended with a traditional Hawaiian blessing. Each tour is limited to ten or fewer guests, so the excursion feels like a private tour of Kipahulu's beauty. As the horses amble along you have plenty of time to take in the graceful trees and the majestic landscape. During the ride through the lush and serene rain forests on friendly and well-loved horses, the guide explains to riders the names of the local flora, waterfalls, and historic landmarks. The tour stops several times during the ride so that people can stretch their legs, take photos, and enjoy a light snack.
Maui Stables is ranked #1 among the activites in Hana on TripAdvisor and as the reviews indicate, this is one of the best tours on Maui. The long drive to and from Maui Stables was certainly worth it, but the trail ride would be terrific as an addition to a weekend in Hana for locals taking a "stay-cation." |
