Will Yahoo's New Search Engine Affect Maui Business?
Yahoo Search Direct was made available to the public earlier this week. While the new search is still in beta testing you can give it a try here.
Yahoo Search Direct was designed to compete with other dynamic search engines (*cough* Google *cough*). This new search engine is designed to set itself apart by providing content in addition to links in order to save users time when looking for certain types of information.
Currently, reviews of the new “content rich instant search” are mixed. We certainly expect that Yahoo Search Direct will continue to adapt during beta testing and perhaps this will cause some of the current critics to change their assessment. One the other hand, other search engines are also constantly improving their results format and algorithms.
With search engines moving away from simple lists of links to sites with relevant content towards dynamic search results including information and content in addition to links online marketing has become an even fiercer competition.
Site previews and information displayed by search engines seem to be reducing traffic to actual sites in many cases. Reduced traffic means fewer potential clients for your business. Under this sort of pressure, you need to know that you can count on your SEO firm to react quickly and bring all of their experience and knowledge to securing your site's position online and growing your online traffic.
