The more impressive change is shown on the search results page. It has now received a more Bing-like look, which features a handy left navigation panel. Google has allowed the left panel to be easily shortened or extended by simply clicking on "More" or "Fewer." This allows users to select tools that help specify a search query. It is powered by the Universal Search, the Search Options Panel and Google Squared. All three behind-the-scenes technologies help users find the most relevant information by filtering the search. 

Although the layout seems a bit more "busy" with more content spread across the page it claims to benefit users by allowing them to specify searches much more efficiently. The playful color scheme is also well reflected in their icons making its appearance fun and appealing to people of all ages.
