Meyer Computer Donates Website to Homeless Shelter
When one of our realtor clients informed us that Maui Economic Concerns of Community Inc. needed help getting a website built, we contacted them right away. In the spirit of giving back to the community during difficult economic conditions, we offered them a website as a donation.
Gathering all the information we could on their operation, we managed to get the site up in about 48 hours. Following this was the fine tuning process where we collaborated with our contacts at the shelter to get content up and create the appropriate presentation they needed for an online presence.
So that our friends at MECC Inc. can maintain their new website, we provided them with our Content Management System which we have specifically tailored for clients that need their own user-friendly system for updating their sites with new information. To make sure they knew their way around the system, we provided free training as well. They selected the website layout from our Quick Site Plus templates.
The purpose of MECCInc.org is to provide information to web visitors. They plan to open a PayPal account, however, so that donations may be made through the website, and this was a big part of the inspiration behind our efforts. Not only were we able to provide them with a free, valuable service, but that service is expected to help them raise funds in the future to continue the great work they are doing for Maui's homeless.
When all was said and done, this was a two week process, but we found the experience very satisfying and hope that you will take a look at the website and even donate to their cause if possible.
In case you happen to need web hosting or design services, we offer Quick Site Websites, Quick Site Plus Websites and Custom Web Design. If you have any questions, contact us. Thanks for reading this week!
MECC Inc Testimonial
Meyer Computer Inc. has allowed our agency, MECC, to move forward in its mission to "Break the Cycle of Homelessness on Maui". Meyer's web-page donation has provided the community with a valuable resource, which allows community members and service providers the opportunity to refer or assist those in need of emergency/transitional shelter. The Web-page, while in the construction stage, will eventually offer many options such as placement on the waitlist, program information, staffing, donation page, employment opportunity information, a Who's Who list and much more. During the development of the Web-site, Meyer Computer Inc. was very patient and accommodating in assisting MECC with the overall construction. |
